WinterCMS

WinterCMS is a content management system built on the Laravel PHP framework, aimed at developers and teams who want a fast, secure backend for websites and web applications. It serves as a free, open source alternative to October CMS, the paid platform from which it forked after licensing changes. Because it runs on Laravel, sites inherit the framework's routing, database layer, and security patching, and existing October CMS themes and plugins often carry over with little adjustment. The limitation is maintenance pace: WinterCMS is a community-run project, so updates and long-term support depend on volunteer contributors rather than a funded company, and some third-party plugins have not kept up with recent Laravel releases.
