Signature PDF

Free web app for signing, organizing, editing metadata, and compressing PDFs.

AGPL-3.0 self-hosted

This free web software lets people sign PDFs by themselves or collect signatures from others. It also handles common page tasks: merging files, sorting and rotating pages, deleting unwanted pages, and extracting selected pages. Users can edit PDF metadata and compress files. Optional digital signatures rely on pdfsig from poppler and certutil from libnss3, with certificates held in an NSS database.

It is intended for individuals and organizations that need PDF signing, collaborative signing, page organization, metadata editing, or compression. It suits self-hosters as well as users of public instances. Administrators can disable Organize mode, load a custom CSS file, set a retention period for shared PDFs, and hide or change the demo PDF link.

The research does not name a paid product that this software replaces, so a direct product comparison is not available. Multi-signature mode requires PDFs to be stored on the server, although the mode is optional. Server storage can be encrypted with gpg and a symmetric key known only to the signers when the relevant setting is enabled. Digital signing also depends on additional poppler and NSS tools.
