Dotclear

Dotclear is an open source blogging program designed to help you manage your own blog and keep control in your hands. Its purpose is straightforward: it provides a way to handle your blog and its management yourself. It is intended for anyone who wants a blogging program centered on direct user control, particularly people whose main priority is maintaining responsibility for how their blog is managed. Dotclear can replace the paid WordPress.com service for users seeking a way to manage a blog themselves. Its defining difference is its focus on direct control rather than relying on a paid product for blog management. One limitation of the available information is that it does not describe specific features beyond blog management and user control. As a result, no detailed feature-by-feature comparison with WordPress.com can be made, and anyone who requires particular capabilities will need to confirm separately whether Dotclear provides them.
