Stoat

Stoat is an open source, web-based chat platform built with modern web technologies. It provides an environment for people to communicate through chat, with a user-first approach that keeps users at the center of the platform’s design and development. It is intended for people and groups looking for a chat platform whose source code is available under the AGPL-3.0 license, especially those who value software designed around its users. No specific paid product is identified as a direct replacement for Stoat, so it should not be presented as an alternative to any particular commercial messaging service. The available project description also does not specify particular chat features, supported integrations, native desktop or mobile applications, hosting options, or administrative tools. As a result, prospective users should not assume that Stoat offers the same capabilities or convenience as a paid messaging product without reviewing the project itself.
