OTS is an open source, Apache-2.0-licensed platform for sharing one-time secrets. It uses symmetric 256-bit AES encryption, and the encryption process takes place directly in the browser. This provides browser-based protection for secrets shared through the platform. OTS is intended for individuals or organizations that need to share sensitive information as a one-time secret and want the encryption to be handled within the user’s browser. OTS can replace pastebin when the information being shared is specifically a one-time secret. Its main limitation, and a key difference to consider, is its narrow focus: OTS is designed specifically for one-time-secret sharing. It is therefore a specialized alternative for this particular use case, rather than a replacement intended to cover every other possible use of pastebin.
