Stirling-PDF

PDF editing and automation for individuals and enterprises.

self-hosted

Stirling-PDF provides more than 50 PDF tools, including editing, merging, splitting, signing, redaction, conversion, OCR, and compression. It runs as a desktop client, through a browser interface, or on the user’s own servers with a private API. Documents can be processed without being sent to external services. No-code pipelines in the interface support automated workflows, while REST APIs for nearly all tools connect PDF processing to existing systems and are described as able to process millions of files.

It is for individuals and enterprises seeking private, self-hosted PDF work across desktop, browser, and server environments. The interface supports more than 40 languages. For organizational deployments, the listed capabilities include SSO, auditing, flexible on-premises deployment, and username/password login alongside SSO auto-login. Docker Compose is the documented installation method.

The research names no paid product that Stirling-PDF replaces and provides no feature-gap comparison with a commercial alternative. Its Stirling Office Convert component is still in beta.
