s3-orchestrator

self-hosted

s3-orchestrator combines storage from many cloud providers behind one S3 endpoint, keeps N copies across them, and uses read failover. It is for teams that want one S3 access point while storing copies of data across several cloud providers. Administrators can set optional limits for each backend. These limits cover stored bytes, requests, ingress, and egress. Each backend can have its own resource and traffic limits. Data can use zstd compression and envelope encryption as optional parts of the storage path. The program brings provider orchestration, copy management, read failover, usage controls, compression, and encryption into the same S3-facing layer. A key limitation is that access is exposed through S3, so workloads that require another storage protocol are outside its scope.
