osem

OSEM manages events for free software conferences. It is for organizers and event managers responsible for conferences centered on free software. The program provides event management tailored to this particular conference setting and audience. Its focus is narrower than event management for conferences and gatherings of every kind. No paid product is known as a direct replacement. That specialization is also OSEM's main limitation: it is tailored specifically to free software conferences rather than general-purpose event management. Organizers working on unrelated events may find that focus too narrow for their needs. OSEM is best suited to cases where a free software conference is the event and conference management is the required function. Its role, audience, and scope all center on managing events within the free software conference community, without extending its defined purpose to other event categories.
