Numa

self-hosted

Numa blocks ads through a DNSSEC-validating recursive DNS resolver in one Rust binary. It supports DNS over HTTPS (DoH), DNS over TLS (DoT), and Oblivious DoH. It also provides ephemeral overrides and local service domains. Numa is for users who want ad blocking, encrypted DNS protocols, recursive resolution, and DNSSEC checks in the same program. It can replace NextDNS in that role. It is also an alternative to Pi-hole and AdGuard Home. Numa's main limitation is its packaging. It comes as a single Rust binary, so it may not suit users who want a different deployment model. Within that format, ephemeral overrides allow temporary DNS changes. Local service domains handle names for local services. DoH, DoT, and Oblivious DoH provide three DNS protocol options. Its recursive DNS resolution validates DNSSEC.
