BookBounty

Finds and downloads missing Readarr books automatically via Library Genesis.

MPL-2.0 self-hosted Web

Alternative to: Alternatives to Zapier

BookBounty finds books that are missing from Readarr and searches Library Genesis for matching files. It can place downloads in a single folder or, when selected_path_type=folder, create an /author/book/filename.ext structure before downloading. If library_scan_on_completion=True, it triggers a Readarr library scan to automate importing. Searches can use an author’s last name and shorten titles at a colon. Results can be filtered by a minimum match ratio, language, fiction or non-fiction type, and preferred file extensions. Scheduled syncs run at configured 24-hour times with up to a 10-minute deadband, while thread limits, request timeouts, and pauses between downloads are configurable.

It is intended for people already running Readarr who want missing books located and downloaded automatically. Readarr connection details are supplied through its address and API key, and the documented deployment method uses Docker Compose with mounted configuration and download directories.

The research does not identify a paid product that BookBounty replaces, so a direct comparison is unavailable. Documented shortcomings include no listed non-Docker installation method and no stated behavior when Library Genesis is unavailable or a search fails. Version 0.2.15’s release notes also list no specific changes and provide only a full changelog link.

Key features

  • Readarr integration through address and API key settings
  • Library Genesis search through http://libgen.is
  • Minimum match ratio filter, defaulting to 90 percent
  • Scheduled syncs at comma-separated 24-hour times
  • Separate fiction and non-fiction extension preferences
  • Language filtering with English as the default fallback
  • Single-folder or author/book folder downloads
  • Configurable threads, request timeout, and download pauses

vs Unspecified

BookBounty covers automated discovery and downloading of missing Readarr books, with matching, language, format, and scheduling controls. It also supports Readarr import automation through a completion scan. It is limited to http://libgen.is, and the research does not document behavior when that service is unavailable or a search fails. It fits existing Readarr users who use the supported Library Genesis address; it does not fit users who need a documented non-Docker installation or another Library Genesis address.
