HandBrake Web

Web UI to queue HandBrake encodes across multiple machines.

AGPL-3.0 self-hosted Web

HandBrake Web provides a browser-based interface for running HandBrake across multiple machines. A server coordinates one or more workers and serves the client interface, while workers perform encoding through HandBrakeCLI. The server sends jobs to workers, which process media using a supplied HandBrake preset configuration.

It is intended for people with headless devices, multiple machines, or both who want to coordinate encoding jobs from a web browser. Users can create and manage an ordered job queue, create jobs in bulk for videos in one directory, and upload, rename, or delete presets. Directory watchers can create jobs automatically according to configured criteria. Encoding work can run concurrently across multiple devices, nodes, or workers. GPU acceleration is supported through Intel QSV for integrated or discrete Intel GPUs and NVIDIA NVENC for discrete NVIDIA GPUs.

The documented setup uses Docker Compose with separate server and worker services, a shared media path, unique worker IDs, and server connection settings. The research does not identify a paid product that HandBrake Web replaces or overlaps with, so it provides no product-specific comparison or shortcomings.
