Lila

Lila is the ad-less chess server that powers lichess.org and supports its official iOS and Android client apps. It is for chess players who want to use lichess.org without ads, including people who reach the service through one of its official mobile apps. As open source software, Lila also gives developers access to the server software behind lichess.org. Its role stays focused on running that chess service and connecting it with the official clients available on mobile devices. Lila has a narrow scope: lichess.org and two named official client platforms. Its official app coverage is limited to iOS and Android, which may not fit people seeking an official client on another platform. Within that boundary, Lila provides the server foundation for lichess.org and its mobile clients. It is an open source option for this specific chess service.
