Transmission

Transmission is a free BitTorrent client that handles BitTorrent transfers. It is for people who want a fast and easy way to use BitTorrent. Its main limitation is scope: because it is a BitTorrent client, users seeking software for another purpose will need a different program. Speed, ease of use, and free access define the practical reasons to choose Transmission. The first matters to users who want quick operation, the second to those who prefer a straightforward client, and the third to anyone avoiding the price of paid software. These qualities all apply to one specific task rather than a broad collection of jobs. Transmission suits a user who needs BitTorrent and values those three traits, but its focused role makes it a poor fit when BitTorrent is not the required technology.
