DSpace

DSpace is a turnkey repository application that provides durable access to digital resources. It is for anyone who needs a ready-to-use repository focused on keeping digital material accessible over time. As an application, DSpace brings the repository and access role together: the repository contains digital resources, while DSpace provides a durable way to reach them. Its practical focus is long-term availability through a repository, rather than temporary access to individual digital items. That focus is also its main limitation. DSpace is centered on repository-based access to digital resources, so it is a narrow fit for needs outside that scope. It is best matched to users whose core requirement is a turnkey repository application and whose resources are digital and need durable access.
