ArchivesSpace

ArchivesSpace is an archives information management application for managing archives, manuscript materials, and digital objects. It combines information management with Web access, allowing these resources to be managed and made available online through the same application. Its scope covers archives, manuscripts, and digital objects in both management and online access. The program is intended for those responsible for managing archival materials, manuscript materials, and digital objects, particularly when those resources also need to be accessible through the Web. The available information does not identify a specific paid product that ArchivesSpace replaces. One limitation is its specialized scope: it is designed around the management and Web access needs of archives, manuscripts, and digital objects, rather than being described as a general-purpose information management application.
