Talkyard

Talkyard lets you create a community where users can suggest ideas, get questions answered, take part in friendly open-ended discussions, and chat. It is for groups that want a single place for these different kinds of conversation. Talkyard combines approaches found in Slack, Stack Overflow, Discourse, Reddit, and Disqus, so it may replace parts of those products for a community that needs chat, questions and answers, idea suggestions, and longer discussions. Talkyard is open-source software built as a hybrid, not a copy of any one service. That breadth is also its main limitation: it combines several approaches rather than focusing on just one. Users looking for one narrowly defined type of interaction should expect a broader combined community format instead.
