Dovecot

Dovecot is an email server that supports the IMAP and POP3 protocols. It is written primarily with security in mind, making security the central design concern identified for the program. It is intended for people or organizations that need an IMAP and POP3 server. Its stated role is focused: providing server software for these two email-access protocols. No specific paid product is identified as the product Dovecot replaces, so it is best understood as an open source option for running an IMAP and POP3 server rather than as a direct substitute for a named commercial package. One limitation of the available description is that it establishes only this protocol support and security focus. It does not state that Dovecot includes other mail-server functions or broader features, so those capabilities should not be assumed.
