DavMail
DavMail is an Exchange gateway that connects POP, IMAP, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV, and LDAP clients to an Exchange server. It allows users to work with Exchange through the mail or calendar client of their choice rather than being limited to a particular client. The gateway communicates through Outlook Web Access, allowing access over the internet or from behind a firewall. It is intended for people who need to use an Exchange server with clients that support these protocols. DavMail can provide an alternative to using Outlook directly for Exchange mail and calendar access, but it does not replace the Exchange server itself. It is also not a mail or calendar client; it acts as an intermediary between a client and Exchange. A key limitation is that it relies on Outlook Web Access, rather than providing a direct, standalone mail or calendar service.
